At the Business Sessions of 45th Annual General Meeting of the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries held on 29th August 2006, Mr. J. A. Tissa Seneviratne was elected as the Hony. Treasurer for the fiscal year 2006/2007. Mr. Seneviratne joined the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries in the year 2003 and became a member of the Executive Council in 2004. Presently, he is the Director/CEO of Matrix (Pvt) Ltd., company engaged in manufacturing Crane Systems, Compressors and Pneumatics.

A proud product of Thurstan College, Colombo Mr. Seneviratne is a holder of National Diploma in Technology conducted by the University of Sri Lanka, Katubedda Campus, Faculty of Engineering. He also holds an Advance Diploma in Industrial Management from the Open University, Sri Lanka.

Mr. Seneviratne started his career as a Mechanical Superintendent at Ceylon Ceramics Corporation Piliyandala in 1977. In 1981 he assumed duties as the Factory Engineer of Lipton Ceylon Ltd and thereafter left for Saudi Arabia to serve as a Mechanical Inspection Engineer. Two years later he returned to Sri Lanka and joined Swedish Trading Company as a Product Manager. In 1991 he left for Japan to work as an Operations Manager at Success Corporation a Company dealing in manufacturing of vehicles. Since 1995 to date he serves as the Director/CEO of Matrix Pvt Ltd.

Mr. Tissa Seneviratne is a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, London, Sri Lanka Energy Managers’ Association and a Fellow of the Institute of Incorporated Engineers Sri Lanka. He has also served in Sri Lanka Judo Association and National Olympic Committee in Sri Lanka. A keen social worker he is a member of the Lions Clubs International District 306 B2 and served as the President of Lions Club of Colombo Metropolis in the year 2005/2006.
