Sunil Shantha
Gotabhaya Liyanage, Senior Vice Chairman of the Ceylon National
Chamber of Industries is a proud product of St. Thomas’
Prep School – Kollupitiya and Royal College –
Colombo. He completed his tertiary education at Singapore
Polytechnic in Singapore.
He is a professional in Polymer Technology, especially
in Plastic and Rubber products. Mr Liyanage is a Licentiate
of the Institute of Rubber Industry and a Fellow of the
plastics and Rubber Industry.
Over 30 years of his career experience, he is having plant
experience in areas such as, manufacture of flexible polyurethane
foam, manufacture of expandable polystyrene, rotation moulding,
injection moulding, blow moulding, vacuum foaming and extrusion.
Mr Sunil Liyanage has been selected to represent Sri Lanka
in number of seminars, workshops and forums related to polymer
industry and he has won the Merit Award from the Plastics
& Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka in 1999. Presently,
he is the Vice President of this Institute, a Council Member
of the Environmental Council of Lanka (ECOL) and a Member
of the Panel of National Institute of Business Management
(NIBM).
A dedicated social worker, Mr Liyanage was elected as the
District Governor of the Lions Club International District
306A for the year 1999/2000. Moreover, he was the Chairman
of the Social Sub Committee of PRI Sri Lanka in 1995 and
a Member of the Village Adoption & Rehabilitation Committee,
doing front line work in Vavuniya and the East.
At present, Mr Sunil Liyanage is the Managing Director
of Arpico Plastics Ltd., Arpico Flexifoam (Pvt) Ltd., Arpico
Plastishells Ltd., Richard Pieris Rubber Products Ltd.,
Richard Pieris Redistribution Co., and Director of Richard
Pieris Distributors Ltd.
