Mr. M. P. Jayawardena is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and member of the Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants. He is also a Council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

He served Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Limited for 13 years in several senior positions including Head of Treasury.

He is the Director/Chief Operating Officer of Chemanex Limited and Not Executive Director of many listed and unlisted companies in the CIC Group.

Mr. Jayawardena jointed the Management Committee of the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) in the year 1999 as the (Hon) Treasurer. At present he serves CNCI Management Committee as a Vice Chairman.
