Mr. Newton Wickramasuriya is a past pupil of Ananda College and obtained his BSc Eng. Degree from University of Ceylon, Peradeniya. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer by profession and has the Fellowship of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK) and the Fellowship of Institute of Mechanical Engineers of Sri Lanka.

Presently, Mr Wickramasuriya serves as the Director/CEO of Central Industries Ltd and he was one of the Past Presidents of Institute of Engineers, Sri Lanka and Corresponding Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers, (UK).

Mr Wickramasuriya joined the Management Committee of the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries as a Vice Chairman in October 1999 and became the Senior Vice Chairman in 2004. In 2006 August, Mr Wickramasuriya was elected as the Deputy Chairman.
