The Official Launch and the Press/Media    conference of the  "CNCI ACHIEVERS AWARDS 2009"for Industrial and Sevice Excellence  was recently held at the Hotel Colombo Hilton in the presence of a distinguish gathering from the corporate sector business enterprises. These prestigious awards have been organised by the Premier Chamber in the Country,The CEYLON NATIONAL CHAMBER OF INDUSTRIES  ( CNCI ) for the 8th consecutive year. 

The Sri Lanka Telecom PLC has come forward  as the Principal sponsor for this unique and prestigious Awarding Event Achievers Awards 2009 for  the 3rd cosecutive year,while the Ceylinco Insurence PLC,Chemanex PLC, and the  Bank of Ceylon  has joined as Award Sponsors. The Associated News Papers Limited( ANCL)  Lake House will be the official Press /Media sponsor  for the 8th consecutive year,while  the MTV / SIrasa TV and Radio also joins as the official TV/ Electronic Media Sponsor for the 8th consecutive year.    

These Prestigious Achievers Awards have been recognised as a Bench mark of Industrial and Sevice Excellence for the Industrial and Sevice sectors in Sri Lanka for the past 8  years  and the unique feature of these Awards will be that the Sri Lankan Enterprises , who are fully owned subsidiaries or  Joint ventures,operating in SAARC countries such as INDIA,Pakistan,BANGLADESH,NEPAL,BHUTAN and MALDIVE ISLANDS could partcipate in the Event, while the elegible business/Manufacturing enterprises who receives the approval and the recommendations from their respective Commerce  and Industrial Chambers  from  the SAARC countries also could take part in the Awards competition. 

The main objective of  conducting this unique  CNCI  ACHIEVERS   AWARDS is to recognise,encourage and reward the Sri Lankan as well as the SAARC country Manufacturing and   industrial sector  enterprises who have excelled in manufacturing and service sectors and who contribute much for the Sri Lankan economy and social  Development in a truely competitive   environment. 

The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries has invited the prospective Industrial/Manufacturing enterprises from the  entire  operating Districts in Sri Lanka to participate in the year 2009 Awards competition .The  Awards will be granted to all  Catagories such as MICRO,SMALL,MEDIUM,LARGE and EXTRA LARGE ustrial/Manufacturing /Service enterprises. The Awards Competition will be evaluated by an Eminent panel of Judges and the panel will be represented by reputed specialist consultants and Authorities  from the Industrial,Quality Control, Manufacturing, Banking , Management sectors.  

The Official Launch was  concluded in a colouful and noteworthy manner with the partcipation of all Chamber Offcials including the Chairman of the CNCI  Mr Newton Wickramasuriya , Deputy Chairman Mr Sunil Perera , Senior Vice Chairman Mr Preethi Jayawardane, Past Chairmen Mr Nimal Perera , Nr A K Rtanarajah , and the Secretary General/ CEO of the CNCI ,  Mr Kumara Kandalama . All Vice Chairmen , Members of the Excecutive Council and the Chamber Patrons , members from the  media and some of the  past Gold winners  also participated at the function.

The Principal Sponsor SRI LANKA TELECOM PLC was reperesnted by the Chairpersom Mrs Leisha de Silva Chandrasena , The Ceylinco Insurence PLC  by  the AGM Marketing Mr Senaka Rajapaksa , The Chemanex PLC by the MD/ CEO Mr Preethi  Jayawardene and the MTV/ SIRASA TVand Radio Network was represented by Group Director Mr Sri Lal Ahangama and the CEO Ms Shanthi Bhagirathan.
